Other bassists belong on this list also, and there are probably some guitarists on this list that don't belong.   The attempt is to list the best(?) avant-garde album (could be very challenging listening or even wretched sludge). A main attempt may be to focus in on solo albums (in the pure sense of that term) to get the bare essence of the artist. Other worthy, more mainstream albums by artist may also exist. A work in progress - Feel free to send additions/information/comments at the club site, or you can e-mail them to Moose.   Warning: If you are unfamiliar with an artist or album, it's recommended that you also consult with others before laying out your money on a purchase.
