CADENCE 2000 RECORD POLL

The readers have voted and, more than any year before, the post-bop genre dominates.  Also this year, the
voting was far more diversified with votes more evenly spread out over more different nominations.  The
1999 Poll first 5 place winners all  exceeded the number of votes of this year's first place winner.

Readers could nominate any recording, awarding each nomination up to 5 points but no more that a total
of 25 points in each category (New Issues or Reissues).

Writers are limited to 10 choices in each category but can only choose recordings from recordings
reviewed in Cadence from Dec. 1999 through Nov. 2000.  The editor's choices must also be limited to
those dates except he can list as many releases as he wishes.
